There are a few ways you can keep your car in good shape to save on fuel. Dirty air filters are one of the main ways people aren't good fuel savers. You can check your air filter easily by holding it up into the sunlight. If the sunlight doesn't go through it, you need to replace it. When your air filter is dirty, it restricts air getting into the engine which makes performance and fuel economy very low. One of the most easy fuel saving ideas is to buy a car without all the fancy gadgets and then keep it that way.

When you add new wheels, tires, and rims, chances are good that they create rolling resistance and therefore decrease the efficiency of your fuel. An easy fuel saver idea is to use all the fancy gadgets when you want to show off a bit, but when taking your car for long trips, put the original tires and rims back on it to get a smoother ride and better fuel mpg. Another fuel saver idea is to buy a smaller car.

It's obvious that big cars are less fuel efficient than small cars, but small cars today are roomier than ever. Car manufacturers have begun designing small cars to survive the impact of larger vehicles so safety isn't really an issue. SUVs are good in states that get terrible snowstorms, but if you live in a state or city where weather isn't dangerous for driving conditions, why not stick with a smaller car that makes fuel saving easy?

Besides keeping your car in good shape and choosing the car that works best for your needs, there are a few simple fuel saving ideas you can do in the car you already own. Stay with trucks on the highway, especially in a traffic jam. Trucks, especially the big rigs, know that it takes much less fuel to keep a car moving than to stop and go so if you roll with the trucks by keeping a constant speed, you'll save on fuel, therefore save on spending money.

Another idea is to use only what you need to as far as fuel is concerned. Roll down your windows instead of using the air conditioning. Or, if you're driving fast, roll up the windows so wind resistance isn't a factor in fuel efficiency.

So Do fuel Savers work? It's obvious that if you follow all the ideas listed here, fuel savers work and work well.
